About the event:

The idea for the event was created by Kris Abrahamson and friend Stephanie Triplett. Both women, members of the Rockford community, were diagnosed with breast cancer within months of each other. The idea was to bring a cancer awareness fundraiser to the community in which they live. Stephanie passed away in December 2013. 

The Flight for a Cure fundraiser was created with Stephanie in mind, and is designed to raise community awareness and support for those living in the Rockford area who have been affected by any type of cancer, and are in any stage of their journey.

Diagnosed with Breast Cancer in September 2011. 

In remission since Spring 2013.

Serving the Rockford Community for 30 years.

Vice Chair of School Board (ISD 883)

School Board Member for Rockford Area Schools  for 10 years. (Since January 2004).
